The Meeting of the African Ministers in charge of ICT as part of the Second Ordinary Session of the AU Specialized Technical Committee (STC) on Communication and ICT (CCICT-2)
We have just concluded today, 24th November 2017 at the Headquarters the African Union Commission in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, the meeting of the African Ministers in charge of ICT as part of the Second Ordinary Session of the AU Specialized Technical Committee (STC) on Communication and ICT (CCICT-2).
The delegation of the ECOWAS Commission was led by th e Commissioner for Telecoms and IT, Dr. Isaias Barreto da Rosa and included the acting Director of Telecommunications, Dr. Raphael Koffi.
During our intervention, we presented the key ongoing initiatives of the ECOWAS Commission in the field of ICT including Amilcar Cabral submarine optical fiber project that should connect Cabo Verde, Guinea Bissau, Sierra Leone Guinea, and Liberia. We also had the opportunity of talking about the ECOWAS Radio Channel that should start broadcasting at the beginning of 2018 from Monrovia, Liberia.
