Free roaming in West Africa!
The ECOWAS Ministers in charge of ICT approved yesterday, 6th October 2017 in Praia, Cabo Verde, a regulation for free regional roaming amongst all ECOWAS Member States. The implementation shall start at the beginning of 2018. During this 15th meeting of the ECOWAS ministers of ICT, the revised draft supplementary act on Universal Access and Services was also approved, along with several other important documents that will foster the development of ICT and regional integration in the ECOWAS region.
According to the ECOWAS Commissioner for Telecoms and IT, Dr. Isaias Barreto da Rosa, this is indeed a historic decision which will bring a tremendous contribution to our regional integration process in West Africa.
