Annual Economic Summit of the Global Economic Summit for Africa
The ECOWAS Commissioner for Telecommunications and Information Technologies, Dr. Isaias Barreto da Rosa, represented the ECOWAS Commission last week in Lagos Nigeria, in the Annual Economic Summit of the Global Economic Summit for Africa (http://www.econinstitute.org/next-summit).
The event took place on 2nd November, 2017 and had participants coming from North America as well as several African countries.
In his allocution during the event, Dr. Barreto da Rosa addressed several issues, including the importance of trade facilitation and free movement of people and goods in promoting regional integration and Economic development in West Africa. The key initiatives of the ECOWAS Commission in this domain were also presented.
The ECOWAS Commissioner for Telecommunications and Information Technologies also had the opportunity of chairing the plenary session on ICT, FinTech and Africa’s Economic Future.
